Liquid Watercolor, a range of brilliant, transparent colors, has been formulated with a selection of permanent dyes dispersed in water and asolution of natural gum arabic. The colors do not settle, are completely miscible with each other, and extend easily without leaving brushstrokes.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH:
KENDRA BRAZZEL
I think I find most of my ideas spawn from other art that is in progress that I am making because I am so experimental in my work, sometimes something transpires and it sparks new ideas. Art ADHD at its finest I get so many ideas while I am doing things.

Where do you find ideas for your art process?
I think I find most of my ideas spawn from other art that is in progress that I am making because I am so experimental in my work, sometimes something transpires and it sparks new ideas. Art ADHD at its finest I get so many ideas while I am doing things.
How often do you make art and what does it mean to you?
Daily! Although I try to take off one day a week. I love making art, it has been something that has completely transformed my mental well-being.
What are your plans for the future?
Keep making art! I am interested in surface pattern design, and making designs that can go on things like wallpaper, lamps, fabrics.
Tell us, what a day in your life looks like, if you’re not making art?
The other day I was trying to relax and I couldn’t remember what other things I even enjoy doing besides making art – I’ve been so focused on my first solo exhibition and a live painting show I did in early June that it’s just consumed me! During my time away from the studio I enjoy a lot of outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, and biking. I am also a trained chef and love making a great Italian meal and eating with family and friends. I used to enjoy shopping when I was working full-time and had a disposable income, but now I am allergic to a bunch of chemicals used in fabrics so that kinda sucked the joy out of that. I literally love coming here to the MAX (Magnolia Art Xchange where I am an artist in residence and have a studio) and making art.

What was the most exciting part of your work with the box and what was the biggest challenge?
Starting it and finishing it. The challenge is having only a limited color palette and the size of the paper, the most exciting thing though is the painting that will be formed from it. Making something unique.
What is your artistic process like?
It is fluid. It is very intuitive and mood driven.
This box is full of different art supplies. How do you deal with the different supplies to put them together into one artwork?
The first thing I did was to color a swatch with each paint and then I just played with the items until I came across a composition that I liked. Play, play, play
